Sick of the Scene

"I am so sick of the scene! SO much drama!"

Well I am sick of people who complain about the scene. Too much drama? Everyone's a slut? Going to stick with the Queen West crowd? Well my gay friends it is all relative. If you think all these negative thoughts, well that all that you are going to experience-no matter where you go.

Homosexuals should be proud of the Church/Wellesley area! It is a safe haven for everyone, there is no discrimination, we allow anyone to enter and always show them a good time. If you actually take a few minutes and talk to the elder queers you will learn that it took alot to gain this area and everyone should work their hardest to sustain it, not bash it!

When I wattle down the street I do not see a scene, I see a bubble in the city like nowhere else and I take pride knowing that I get to be apart of it. I come from a small pond where there is no safe haven and had to travel far to be in a place where I feel where I belong. Where I know if someone is calling me a homo it is in jest and not done with malicious intent. It is a place where we all can let down our feathers and be ourselves.

So if you are sick of the scene and decide to go party somewhere else just know that wherever you go you bring the "scene" with you.
